| The Knights of Columbus The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. All knights dedicate themselves to the ideals of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. Father Michael J, McGivney founded the Knights in 1882 in answer to the extreme prejudice faced by Catholic men and their families. He chose the name Columbus feeling that as Catholic men they could relate to Christopher Columbus, the Catholic discoverer of America. The Knights, together with the Lady's Auxiliary and boys and young men in the Columbian Squires, provide its membership with opportunities to serve their church and their community. Please use the links to the left to review a few of the many accomplishments the Knights of Columbus are involved with here and throughout the world. Then, we invite you to use the membership link to consider joining us to become a force for Catholic action here and in the world. We look forward to having all Catholic men (the Knights of Columbus), women (the Ladies Auxiliary), and boys (the Squires) at Sacred Heart Church to become one with us: The Knights of Columbus of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Council 13241. |
